Diagnostic and therapeutic medical technology company Laborie Medical Technologies (Laborie) has introduced a new wireless pH-capsule reflux testing system, dubbed alpHaONE.
The alpHaONE system is intended as a diagnostic system for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
Providing up to 96 hours of monitoring data, the system aims to expand the company’s gastroenterology motility and reflux portfolio.
Laborie’s GI business unit sales and marketing vice-president Rhett Klein said: “alpHaONE is a patient-centric system that allows for comfortable monitoring and accurate, reliable data, fulfilling the needs of both patients and healthcare providers to diagnose GERD.
“Our primary objective has always been to provide solutions that elevate patient outcomes and enhance their overall experience and we look forward to launching this product.”
The device has a compact design and includes enlarged buttons. A fail-safe capsule delivery system is also incorporated into the device to protect the patient’s oesophagus.
The system is installed with a software application that features a virtual instruction programme to enable easy navigation.
Furthermore, Laborie has incorporated user-customisable symptom buttons and automatic pH data analysis to enhance the device user’s experience.
The alpHaONE system will be exhibited at the Digestive Disease Week (DDW) event in Chicago, Illinois, US, next month.
Based in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Laborie produces diagnostic and therapeutic products for urology, urogynecology, obstetrics, gastroenterology, gynaecology and neonatal health applications.
